Boarding house thief and swindler in CDO arrested.

Photo provided last 2011 by his victims
Someone posted in DiscreetBai forum about a certain swindler named Jaypee L. Oca.  I immediately recognized him as the same guy who victimized occupants of boarding houses in Cagayan de Oro 2 years ago.  It was reported in the local ABS-CBN.  He used the name Julian Perry Oga.  His victims already filed a complain at Police Station No. 9 in Macasandig.  It is best that these two Police Stations (No. 1 and No. 9) coordinate with each other.  Check out this link
http://www.discreetbai.com/2011/09/boarding-house-swindler.html

This only shows that IF YOU REPORT these swindlers to the POLICE, they will be arrested and put a stop to their swindling activities in Cagayan de Oro!

To Loi23alian, thank you for sharing this information.  I hope this will encourage more people to report swindlers to the police.

Social networking sites are very helpful to us nowadays. In these sites we meet a lot of people of our interests. Friendship, relationship, hook-ups, and etc are some of the interests we seek in these sites. Now, everyone has heard of the site www.planetromeo.com, right? This is a social-networking site for us, gays/bisexuals. We could meet a lot of people from this site as we all know.
Now, as I am an avid user of this site, I get to log-in everyday and run through lists of online netizens. One sunday night, November 10, 2013, I received message from a username "singledad_28" with a "Hi." as usual way of starting a conversation. As I read the message, I replied to this man, and that started our long conversation. He gave me a not clear picture of him and his son then he asked for my cellular phone number, so I gave it to him. He called me right after I gave him my digits. We talked over the phone and discussed his son. The night had gone deeper and he told me that he's sleepy then ended the call.

In the morrow, he called me early an asked me if we could meet somewhere in the city, he preferred if it's in the mall. I accepted his invitation and told him that we could meet inside the premises of Limketkai Mall and he agreed to this. Late in the afternoon at around 5pm, we met at Starbucks Coffee and proceeded to Shakey's inside Limketkai Mall. He treated me something to eat and a tea. He told me his name was "Zach" and I told mine too. We talked about his son and his family background, and so I told him about mine also. As we were talking, two customers went inside the establishment we were in, and Zach coincidently had a stomachache and immediately stood up and went outside the parlor and headed to Mercury Drug Store. 10 minutes later, I contacted Zach and asked him if he will be coming back then he called me on my phone and told me he's buying medicine for his stomachache. Over the phone he asked me if I knew the persons who got inside Shakey's Parlor and I told him "no". He said he might be taking so long so he asked me if I could pay the bill for what we ordered, I checked my wallet and told him that my money isn't enough, knowing this he asked me if I could hand over my phone to the waiter so that he could give instructions to the waiter. The instruction was simple, the waiter will go to the Mercury Drug Store to get the payment and return immediately so that I could come over where he was. So I came over to him and we strolled around the mall. While strolling, he told me his wallet was snatched from him at Cogon market. He worried for his identification cards because the grandmother of his son (his mother-in-law) will be sending him money for his son. But the problem was he can't get the money because he had no ID to present in the money remittance center. He asked me a favor if he could use my ID and I said "yes" the he told me that in return he will give me a partial of the money he will be receiving, I declined to this but he insisted so I had nothing more to say. As I looked inside my wallet, I told him I forgot to bring my ID, then he asked me if we could go back to my house and get my ID then back again in the city to get the money. We rode in a taxi cab forth to our house then back again to the city. We got back in the city and stayed inside Missy Bonbon. He sent my name and address to his mother-in-law and we waited for the control number. The night became weary and my mom called me, she was worried with me, I got anxious and worried too and told Zach if I could go home now. He was a bit worried too and apologized to me because he got me in to trouble, so he told me to go home and gave me money for the cab fare. And about the money, he'll just ask his son's grandma to send it tomorrow in the afternoon because I promised him that I will meet him again by tomorrow.

In the morning, I woke up by the ringing sound of my phone, it was Zach who called me, he told me that his son got bored and was crying and he and his son's yaya can't do something to ease the child. He said his son wanted to watch action movies, so he asked me if I could bring a portable DVD player in the hotel where they're staying so that his son could watch movies. I said to him that we don't have that kind of DVD player, instead we have laptop and maybe I could bring it. So all was set, I will meet them in the afternoon inside Parkview Hotel. I was glad because I will be meeting his son. Afternoon has come so I decided to go before the rain comes pouring. As I got near Parkview Hotel, he told me his son is still sleeping so maybe we could go somewhere else where we can drink coffee, he told me Brew Berry Cafe would be perfect since he like the ambiance of the place. Then we went to the cafe and talked a lot. He treated me to a coffee drink. He asked me if I could show him the movies I prepared for his son. I pulled over my laptop and put it on the table. He told me that since we're also waiting for the money and for his son to wake up, we could search on the internet some gadgets selling online because he wanted to buy. I asked him why since he already have an iPhone, and a blackberry phone. He told me he is planning to give it to me. I told him that it doesn't matter because I already have a smartphone and an iPod to use and I am already contented with what I have but he insisted and told me that he feel so guilty and his conscience is engraving him because he got me in to trouble last night and asked me hassle favors. So I didn't insist anymore and changed the topic. While we were have conversations he tend to go inside the comfort room leaving his things in front of me. So I thought that he's really trusting me. I noticed that he'd already went inside of the comfort room several times so I asked him if there's something wrong. He told me that it is his stomachache causing him to go inside the CR for a couple of times. So I told him that he should buy medicine outside, he thought over about my suggestion and he told me that if it gets worse he will buy medicine. Minutes later, he went again inside the CR and as he got back, he told me if I could buy him medicine. Without hesitation and with the complete trust, I told him to look over my things while I buy him medicine. So I left the cafe and buy the medicine for his stomachache. As I got back to the establishment where I left Zach, he was nowhere to be found. I searched inside the CR and asked the waiters and the owner of the cafe if they saw the man who was with me the while time we were in the cafe but they said they didn't know where the man went but they saw the man left a minute after I left to buy medicine. I was in total shock and as if the energy inside me was totally drained as soon as I realized Zach has my belongings, my laptop, my wallet, my bag, my iPod 4th Gen, and my 500gb external hard drive.

I immediately went to the nearest police station and asked for their help, they interrogated me and I was compelled to tell them the whole story. I texted Zach in hope that he would reply to my messages. After several messages I sent to him, he replied to me, "Hala! Oh my!". I told the police that he replied to me and the officers motivated me to keep in contact with the suspect. I told Zach I would give to him anything just to retrieve my laptop because I have some important files in their. He told me, "I'm sorry. I just need the money po talaga.". I asked him to call me so that we could have a proper conversation, so he called me and told me that he will give me my laptop if I will give him money worth 10,000php. So I accepted his offer. I told the officers about this and they prepared themselves for an entrapment operation. Zach told me that we will meet inside Centrio Mall specifically inside J.Co Donuts. I knew the chance of this operation was 10% only but I never had allowed myself to lose hope. Zach called me on my phone and told me it would be better if I'd go inside the Mall first. So the cops and I went to the said mall and they told me the plan while we were in the Police Patrol Car. We arrived outside the mall and I headed immediately to J.Co Donuts establishment. I texted Zach that I am already in the place, he told me that the plan has changed, we will meet outside the Mall, I will hand him over the money and he will give me my things. And again, I reminded myself that the chance of this operation is only 10% so I prayed to God that this operation may be successful. I told him that I am going outside the mall and he told me he's riding a taxi cab and he'll just call me as soon as he arrives. The moment I stepped outside the premises of the mall, I saw a cab slowing down and I guessed it could be Zach. I went on the other side of the road and took a look inside the car from a distant. I confirmed to the police that it was Zach sitting on the front seat. I ran to the cab and stood on front of it so that it will go nowhere. The police noticed mu actions and they knew it was the cue. They went after me and told the driver to open the door and that they are cops. The driver did what he was told to do then the cops arrested Zach, the theft.

We proceeded immediately to the police station for further investigation and interrogation. Medias came over the station, ABS-CBN and GMA News. They interviewed me about what really happened and I told him the whole story.

After an hour, a complainant came over the police station and confirmed that it was Zach who took his things, iPhone 4S, watch worth 10,000php, and wallet with money worth 1,500 and identification cards in it. I recognized the complainant because he was the man I saw inside Shakey's Pizza Parlor. I then realized that it was the man the reason why Zach left the parlor hastily. The complainant told me his story and I discovered we experienced almost the same modus.

Now, I have retrieved all my belongings that were taken away from me by Jaypee "Zach" Luba Oca. Beware of this man. If you are also a victim of this fraud, file a complain in the police station 1 at DV Soria, Cagayan de Oro City.

Fake Masseurs Online

There are so many freelance masseurs advertising online.  They entice you with cheap and sensual massage.  My advise to everyone is beware!  I have already received several complaints of these masseurs stealing from their clients.  Worst of all, they are not really masseurs.

Karon kasabot namo sa ako, why I require photographs of these masseurs when they advertise here in this blog.  We need assurance these guys are real and they have nothing to hide.  Kay kung mangawat sila, at least we have their photo and we can warn people to avoid them.

Everyweek I post an article on tips to avoid being robbed or swindled here in Cagayan de Oro.  Share them and if you get victimized REPORT it to the police!  If you do not report them to the police, they will keep on victimizing other people.

Call boy in Limketkai

For the past weeks I see this call boy (also known to some as Mike or Michael) roaming around Limketkai Mall every afternoon.  As usual he wears a cap and a stripped shirt.

Be careful of this guy as he is known to swindle his clients.  He would offer you a rate of 300 Pesos but after or during sex it becomes 3,000 Pesos.  Since the victims refuse to file criminal charges against him, he remains free to victimize other gay people.

Updates on Masseur Swindler in CDO

Someone complained that this guy is swindling gay people online.  He claims to be a masseur offering sensual massage.  According to the complainant, he carries a gun and uses it to threaten his victims.  He even claims to be an employee of Southern Arms, a gun supplier in Cagayan de Oro City and manages VV Security Agency.

Considering that there is already an election gun ban, he is asking for more trouble.  If you have been a victim of this person, please report this incident to the police.  Mention the gun in your complaint

Masseur swindler in PlanetRomeo

Here we go again.  Another gay swindler in Planet Romeo.  This time a guy pretending to be a masseur.  I have already noticed him posting his profile and services in Planet Romeo before.  Good thing I was able to save his photo.

According to the information I received, this guy gives a very lousy massage, in short he is not a trained masseur.  He brings a gun with him, threatening his customer and claims to be an employee of Southern Arms, a gun store in Cagayan de Oro City.  Southern Arms also owns VV Security Agency.

Beware of guys advertising online that they are masseurs, much more if they do not have photos.  Mga walay klaro na sila!

Male Prostitution

In a news clip featured by Umagang Kay Ganda in ABS-CBN, a guy named "Jay" was among those arrested during an anti-criminality drive in Caloocan City, Metro Manila.  Jay basically earns around 500 to 1,000 Pesos a day being a male escort in the streets of Caloocan.   He was forced to go into prostitution because he had to feed his siblings since their parents passed away.  He also claims that he uses a condom to protect himself from diseases.

His story is a sad one and I sympathize with him.  As the sole bread winner in the family he has to do something for his family to survive.  Stories like these are heartbreaking.  However for some of these male prostitutes, it is a different story.  In Cagayan de Oro, most male prostitutes are swindlers and thieves.  How can you sympathize to their plight if all they do is rob you?

Again, let me reiterate my stand on this issue.  I do not encourage prostitution but reality bites.  Some people has no choice but to use what they have to survive.  Now, I have no problems with prostitutes as long as they provide the correct service as agreed upon.  As long as both parties including the client (ang bayot), respect each others right.  The problem with some gay clients, they are a bit aggressive and sometimes deceitful.  Respect begets respect.  You won't get respect if you do not respect others.

Tips to Avoid Getting Swindled

There have been incidents of robbery or fraud in Cagayan de Oro involving gay people.

To avoid getting swindled or robbed, here are some advise or tips to follow :

1. When meeting someone online, check their Facebook account or if not see each other through webcam. Today, most people have Facebook or webcams, so if that person does not have one, that is a warning sign.

2. If the person you meet online wants to meet with you immediately in your hotel room or apartment, that is a warning sign. Meet this person first in a public area or through webcam. If you do not like the person you are meeting, you can make an excuse and leave the place or simply turn off the webcam.

3. If you bring these strangers to your hotel room or apartment/home, make sure the hotel has a CCTV camera and the guy should register or surrender an ID to the hotel receptionist. Better yet, leave your valuables with the hotel receptionist for safe keeping and instruct them never to give it to anyone except you. Take a photo of the guy using your phone and send it to friends. If at home, make sure someone is at home to assist you in case of emergencies.

4. Gay swindlers are now in social networking sites.  If the profile photo is not the same with the actual person you meet, that is a warning sign.  Make an excuse and leave immediately.  Do not anymore entertain them.

5. If someone asks you for a night out with his so called "friends and cousins", that is a warning sign. You might end up paying all of the drinks and even more. Sometimes you go out in a date, only to find out that his "cousin" will join you later. If this happens, make an excuse and leave!
These swindlers sometimes operate in pairs or groups.

6. When in a motel, if the guy insists that you take a shower first, this is a warning sign. This is an opportunity for these swindlers to take your belongings and even your clothes.  If you shower, take your clothes with you inside the bathroom and lock the door.

7.  If a gay swindler threatens you that he will create a scene or "mag eskandalo" if you do not give your belongings, you should reply....GO AHEAD! PAG ESKANDALO.  These swindlers are just bluffing.  They do not really want to create a scene or else they will get involved in it and their identity exposed.

Share this with friends! If you have been a victim of these swindlers, REPORT them to the Police!

How to Detect Online Dating Fraud

Good day! A warning to social networking media users (GayRomeo, Facebook and others).  Be careful who you meet or date online.  Several people have already complained of fraud or being swindled by people they met in Cagayan de Oro City.

Here are some tips to follow:

1. When meeting someone online, check their Facebook account or if not see each other through webcam. Today, most people have Facebook or webcams, so if that person does not have one, that is a warning sign.

2. If the person wants to meet with you immediately in your hotel room or apartment, that is a warning sign. Meet this person first in a public area or through webcam. If you do not like the person you are meeting, you can easily leave the place or simply turn off the webcam.

Never go with these guys alone in your home. Always make sure someone is at home with you.

4. If the profile photo is not the same with the actual person you meet, that is a warning sign. Make an excuse and leave immediately.

5. If someone asks you for a night out with his so called "friends and cousins", that is a warning sign. You might end up paying all of the drinks and even more. Sometimes you go out in a date, only to find out that his "cousin" will join you later. If this happens, make an excuse and leave!

Pregnant thief in Cagayan de Oro falls!

When I read this news article about a pregnant woman stealing cellphones from students and teachers, I remembered the robbery incident that happened to my ex-boyfriend in Cebu. (http://www.sunstar.com.ph/cagayan-de-oro/local-news/2012/07/13/pregnant-thief-falls-231744)

He was in Ayala Mall with his best friend who just had an eyeball with a "gay" chatter.  They were roaming around the mall and finally decided to eat in McDonalds.  Suddenly the guy asked my ex-boyfriend for his cellphone, "wala daw siya load, paki text sa cellphone".  Without hesitation, my ex-boyfriend gave his cellphone to the guy.  Suddenly he went out of McDonalds, "wala daw signal" and before you can say HOY! he ran out of the mall with his cellphone.

There are so many swindlers out there that we have to be careful who to trust.  Daghan pud mga bayot nga masaligon ug dali ra matonto.  If you get swindled or robbed report it to the police immediately.  Do not just say "charge to experience" because these robbers and swindlers will do it again to another person.  Kung dili na ninyo sila i-report sa pulis, magbalik-balik lang na sila sa ilang pangilad.

Prostitutes/Call boys in Cagayan de Oro

To be honest, I have nothing against call boys or prostitutes per se.  Panginabuhi mana nila, that is their way of providing for themselves.  However if their means of livelihood is through swindling or theft, dinha nata magbungo!  Prostitution is already illegal in the Philippines, ngano dugangan paman nimo imong illegal nga panginabuhi ug lain pang illegal nga butang?

If only call boys provide good services, sakto ang pangayo ug sabot, we would not reach this point.  Again, respect begets respect.  Both parties should show respect to each other and that includes the client.

I still believe that there are good and decent call boys in Cagayan de Oro.  Ang problema lang, asa na ni sila?  Any ideas?  As long as this issue continues,  I will not stop talking about this in the blog.

And by the way, sex with minors is a NO! NO!  Katong hilig ug mga high school boys?  This is where I draw the line.  NEVER ever have sex with them because it is against the law.  To have sex with someone below 18 years old is considered as statutory rape, with consent or without consent.  Remember that CDO Policeman who was caught in a motel with high school girls?  Gatago tago na ang pulis patola.  Follow the law to avoid complications.

Is this Noel, the gay swindler in CDO?

I logged in GayRomeo to warn people about gay swindling in CDO and found this profile very familiar.  Can anyone verify if this is Noel, the gay swindler previously discussed here in the blog.  Noel's GayRomeo profile was deleted a week ago and this particular profile was recently created.

Check the original link about Noel http://www.discreetbai.com/2012/03/gay-swindler-strikes-again-in-cagayan.html

Facebook blackmail ends in arrest

A 16 year old girl was blackmailed in Facebook and threatened that her nude photos will be uploaded online unless she gives money or have sex with her blackmailer.

The blackmailer (a guy) told the girl that she should take a protein powder and since she was a model, she should take nude photos of herself for a "before" and "after" comparison of her body.

The guy was arrest in an entrapment operation by the NBI.

http://www.sunstar.com.ph/cebu/local-news/2012/03/09/facebook-blackmail-ends-arrest-210294

What lessons can we take from this?

Never take nude photos of yourself even with your boyfriend.

Should someone blackmail you or would try to extort money from you, REPORT it to the police ASAP!

Its Christmas again...Beware of Gay Swindlers!

Merry Christmas to all.  Its that time of the year to be aware of your surroundings.  Daghan napud mangingilad!  Swindlers are looking for possible victims this Christmas season.  I do not advise people to visit gay bars and other places frequented by these call boys.  Most if not all call boys in CDO are swindlers.

If you really want to hire a call boy, I suggest you go with more than 3 friends.  If there are 4 of you and that call boy tries to swindle you....kulataha!  You have the right to defend yourself.
