Warning people of gay swindlers in Cagayan de Oro.  Most if not all of call boys or male escorts in Cagayan de Oro are swindlers.  Some are now posing as "trippers" or straight guys (you find them in malls and even online) looking for sex but after the sexual act they would ask for money in the thousands of Pesos.


Advising gay people who patronize call boys to take their photos and send the photos to your friends.  Better yet let your friend accompany you.  Go to motels with CCTV camera, so you can ask for the video if you get swindled.

It is unfortunately that most victims of these swindlers are too embarrassed to report it to the police.

Until someone fights back and report them to the police, these gay swindlers will keep on victimizing gay people in the city.

In past years, there has been a sudden increase of HIV-AIDS cases in the Philippines, most of which was through male-to-male sex.  The Department of Health has already declared an AIDS epidemic outbreak in the Philippines including Cagayan de Oro City.

For the first time in decades, the HIV-AIDS case in Cagayan de Oro City has reached double digits.  Here are the full statistics in the past years:

2008 - 6 cases

2009 - 9 cases

2010 - 14 cases
 2011 - 27 cases

Based on the statistics, the rate of the viral infection is at Fifty (50) percent annually.  If we follow this trend, in 2012, the HIV-AIDS cases in the city will reach close to 55 and by 2013 there will be over a 100 people in CDO with HIV-AIDS. 

If you are from Cagayan de Oro City, call the AIDS Hotline number (8822-area code) 72-1189.  This is a service by the City Health Office of Cagayan  de Oro.  They will entertain your questions without malice.  If they do insult or embarrass you in anyway, call the attention of the City Health Officers and report such incident.  These people are supposed to assist you in anyway.

I am slowly shifting from pirated to original softwares and I hope you guys do the same.

Here are some free original softwares that you can download online without spending a centavo.

1.  Open Office or Libre Office.

These two free softwares are your answer to the expensive Microsoft Office.  I already tried Open Office and it works well.  Open Office has Writer similar to MS Word, Calc similar to MS Excel, Impress similar to Powerpoint and more.  Of course Open Office is not entirely the same with MS Office.  There are some differences but you can easily go around it.  In Open Office, you can save files and make it compatible to MS Office softwares.  No need to worry that MS Office could not read files done in Open Office.

2.  Avast or AVG

Your answer to the expensive anti-virus softwares.  The Avast Home Edition is free for download online.  Avast and AVG is among the most popularly downloaded anti-virus and internet security suite software in Android phones.

3.  Paint.NET

This is a free alternative to Adobe Photoshop or Corel Draw.  I haven't tried it but it is promising.

4.  VLC Media Player

Looking for a free media player? VLC is a good alternative.  Plays most types of video files.

CDO Journalists violated AIDS Law of the Philippines

Remember the issue of a male nurse who died of AIDS in Cagayan de Oro?  Journalists who reported this story are now in trouble.  Under Republic Act 8504 or the Philippine AIDS Prevention and Control Act of 1998, it states that a person with HIV is guaranteed the right to privacy.  In short, you are not supposed to give any information whatsoever about that person, even hints or clues to his identity.

Tingog CDO, a gay group advocating against HIV AIDS in Cagayan de Oro lodged a complaint against these media practitioners who in their radio station wanted to expose the name and whereabouts of the person. If you expose these people in public, it would put fear among people with HIV AIDS and prevent them from seeking help instead.

This situation only showed us that homosexuals in Cagayan de Oro and in the Philippines for that matter are tolerated but not totally accepted.  Someone even posted a comment in Sunstar website that Tingog CDO are mere faggots and these media practitioners should do their job in exposing these people.

Ms. Universe-Canada allows Transgender to compete

Ms. Universe-Canada organizers has allowed Jenna Talackova, a transgender (male to female) to compete in the prestigious pageant.  This has opened doors to transgender men to now compete in the Ms. Universe pageant.


Reading recent comments in Yahoo News, most Filipinos including some gay Filipinos are against this.  They feel that it is unfair to real women.  One suggested that there should be a separate competition for transgenders.

Zac Efron Nude Photos?

There have been photos spreading around online showing Zac Efron in his birthday suit.   The photos show Zac Efron in a hotel balcony in Sidney, Australia.   Unfortunately the photos are fake, this according to Just Jared.com website.  See the other photos in this link http://www.justjared.com/photos/zac-efron/2/ .  The original photos show that he was wearing dark pants with his underwear sticking out at that time.  The person who photoshopped the photo did a good job in convincing people that it was real.  

There are speculations that this so called "nude" photos were recently released to draw more attention to Zac Efrons new movie "The Lucky One" which opens in theaters this April 20th.

Mr. Gay World 2012 from New Zealand

Andreas Derleth, a German living in New Zealand won this years Mr. Gay World 2012 held in South Africa.  However the competition was hounded by African candidates withdrawing from the competition.  In most parts of Africa, sodomy is still considered a criminal offense punishable by death.  This was not the first time this competition caused much controversy.  In 2010, China reprimanded Mr. Gay World-China representative for disobeying authorities in joining the said competition.  Carlito Floro Rosadino Jr., Philippines representative to the competition won Best in Costume and Peoples Choice Award.

Coming out in the open

Coming out, telling people you are gay is a difficult process.  You just don't know how your friends or parents would react.  I am lucky my family took it lightly.


Just an advise, never come out during a family occasion or a certain holiday like Christmas.  At least when something goes wrong, you wont get upset everytime a similar occasion or holiday comes by.
