The Philippines has started a pilot project on PrEP or pre-exposure prophylaxis.

Around 200 healthy LGBT individuals (HIV negative) will participate in this two year long research.

PrEP if taken daily can reduce chances of HIV infection.

This is great news for the Philippines which has among the fastest HIV infection rate in the world.

Earthquakes in the Philippines

It seems a lot of Filipinos have forgotten their elementary and highschool lessons.  Here are 3 things you should know about earthquakes.

1.  No one can predict an earthquake.  We can only make assumptions based on historical facts and scientific data but we can not do exact predictions.

HIV AIDS in Cagayan de Oro City

In past years, there has been a sudden increase of HIV-AIDS cases in the Philippines, most of which was through male-to-male sex.  The Department of Health has already declared an AIDS epidemic outbreak in the Philippines including Cagayan de Oro City.

For the first time in decades, the HIV-AIDS case in Cagayan de Oro City has reached double digits.  Here are the full statistics in the past years:

2008 - 6 cases

2009 - 9 cases

2010 - 14 cases
 2011 - 27 cases
2012 - 52 cases
2013 - 88 cases

Based on the statistics, the average rate of the viral infection is almost at One Hundred (100%) percent.  If we follow this trend by 2014, the HIV-AIDS cases in the city will reach the 100 mark. 

If you are from Cagayan de Oro City, call the AIDS Hotline number (8822-area code) 72-1189.  This is a service by the City Health Office of Cagayan  de Oro.  They will entertain your questions without malice.  If they do insult or embarrass you in anyway, call the attention of the City Health Officers and report such incident.  These people are supposed to assist you in anyway.

Here is another gay swindler in PlanetRomeo.  He used to be GAWS69.  Now he is using another profile and another photo.

I suspect the owner of this profile is Mike Alconera.  A well known gay swindler in CDO.  He usually use a photo that is close to his features so he can easily get away with it when he meets up with people.  (see his photo below)

So AGAIN before meeting someone always use webcam or video chat first to identify and verify the persons identity.

Don't be a fool

Its April Fools Day!  Don't be fooled by swindlers online.

Anyone can now download photos online and pretend to be that person.   That is why before you meet up personally, chat first through Skype or Viber and do a video chat.  Magkita mo sa webcam or video.  In this way you are sure the person you meet online is the same person you are going to meet face to face.  This is how you avoid so called "posers".

If the person has so many excuses that his phone could not download apps, that the webcam is broken and so on, there is something wrong with him.  He is hiding something and therefore his intentions towards you is questionable.

If you are already horny and you want to meet the person immediately, do it in a public area or outside the hotel.  In case the person you meet is not the same one in the profile, you can immediately say NO and leave.  Never just say "sige nalang", "bahala na" or "pwede na" and then allow that person to go to your hotel room and house.  If he already fooled you online then I think you know what would happen next.

ALWAYS think about your safety first.  Unsahay lagi mag una ang uwag.

When robbed, fight back if the situation allows you to do so.  Shout if you can!  They are also afraid of being caught or revealed.  Several victims have done this and they were able to get assistance.

And lastly report this matter to the police.  It is important that the police are aware of what is happening. If no one reports this incident, these swindlers will keep on robbing people.

Beware GAWS69 Profile in PlanetRomeo

Someone messaged me that GAWS69 profile in PlanetRomeo is a swindler.

True enough when I checked his profile and read his Guestbook entries there were complaints. (When checking a profile read Guestbook entries)

The pictures in the profile are fake.

Again before meeting up with someone chat first through webcam or video.  You can do it in Viber, Skype or any chat app with video function.  If the guy refuses because he is "discreet", then that is a warning sign.

If you really want to meet the person then meet him in a public area like a mall.  In this way you can immediately refuse and leave or seek assistance in the mall just in case.  Do not meet the person in your house or hotel room.  

Common sense dictates that if the person is not the same in the profile then beware.  If he fooled you in his profile, he has bad intentions.

Duterte backtracks on gay marriage

During the Presidential campaign, candidates where asked on their opinion on same-sex marriage.  Mayor Duterte showed his support for same-sex marriage. 

In a TV interview with Vice Ganda last July 2015, he talked about gays being oppressed or bullied.  That he cares for people who were oppressed.

However in his official trip to Myanmar he declared his opposition to same-sex marriage.  Personally I was surprised by this.  I was expecting a law on gay marriage to happen considering Davao City passed an Anti-Discrimination ordinance in 2012 in support of Ladlad Party who was denied by the COMELEC to run for the Party List system.

It is my hope that Pres. Digong changes his mind on this issue.  This is a promise he made to the Filipino LGBT community.  

A promise is a promise Mr. President.  You were elected because of these promises.  Please do not disappoint us.

CDO Photographer forces model to have sex

Beware of a photographer in Cagayan de Oro who offers photo services to wannabe models but forces them to have unprotected sex with him.

I was able to talk to one of his "models" and he admitted being forced to have unprotected sex with the photographer.  Take note, forcing someone to have sex with you is tantamount to rape!

To avoid this from happening, never agree to an "exclusive" pictorial in secluded places like the room or house of the photographer unless with a trusted companion or companions.

Since this information is not verified.  All I can do right now is warn people about it.

There is this profile in PlanetRomeo that complains about gay or effeminate users online.  That the site is becoming disgusting because there are just too many effeminate users.

Whether you are discreet, bisexual, tripper or whatever label you want to claim, as long as you are into same-sex relationship or same-sex intercourse, then you are simply GAY!  

Remember that the term GAY is a general term applied to everyone including lesbians.

Beware of Fake Online Profiles

I am not sure if the profiles below are duplicates or was catfished but when I sent a message to both profiles regarding the dangers of online dating, the response were quite different.

One profile thanked me for the warning him about it while the other simply blamed the victims for being stupid.

This is a perfect example of catfishing or fake profiles.

Beware of sending photos to strangers.  Place watermarks on your photos or better yet do video chat or webcam.

Catfishing

Catfishing in gay social media sites is a growing problem especially in Cagayan de Oro City.

Catfishing is when someone creates a fake profile (fake photographs) on social media sites to trick people into thinking they are somebody else.  They make up life stories and use photographs of unsuspecting victims to create fake identities.  (https://www.thesun.co.uk/news/1754916/what-is-catfishing-and-how-do-you-know-if-its-happening-to-you/)

Aside from being catfished, your identity might be stolen.  When you share your photo, make sure you watermark it.  Put a mark on your photo so no one can claim it as their own.

Always ask to chat through webcam first before meeting.   You can chat through Skype, Viber and others.   If they refuse to chat through webcam or even through your phone cam (video phone chat), be careful.

These swindlers feed on your desires, on your emotions.  That is how they convince you to do anything they want you to do.  For example : "Magmahay ka gyud kung dili ta magkita", "Lami kaayo ko mo romansa, magmahay ka gyud",  "Karon ra gyud ko bakante, magkita na ta karon".  Never allow them to control you.  Control the situation before it gets out of hand.  

If you get robbed, report it to the police.  By not reporting these swindlers to the police, you are giving them permission to rob other people.
