Male nurse in CDO dies of AIDS

News has been circulating that a male nurse in Cagayan de Oro recently died of AIDS.  However according to City Hall it is not yet confirmed.

The Cagayan de Oro AIDS Council will convene this April 11 to discuss this issue.

HIV AIDS infection in Cagayan de Oro City alone has already reach more than 20 last year and is expected to increase this year to 40, or a rate of 50% annually.

Gay swindler strikes again in Cagayan de Oro!

Someone contacted me in Facebook and GayRomeo that he was robbed by a guy, a gay swindler, around 2 weeks ago in CDO.  His story is typical of a gay swindling modus operandi.

The victim was befriended by a guy named Noel whom he meet in a public area.  They exchanged numbers and sent each other text messages.  Noel wanted to have sex with the victim but was not able to do so due to schedule conflict.  Then the victim received a text message and this time it came from another guy named Jay who claims to be the cousin of Noel.

Since Noel claimed that he was not around in CDO, Jay and the victim meet, talk a while and decided to seal the deal.  They went to a motel and after the sex, Jay started asking for money, 3,500 Pesos to be exact.  Jay threatened the victim, that if he would not provide the money he would start shouting and create a scene in the motel.  The victim gave his phone to Jay who then immediately left.  When the victim got down of the motel, he saw both Noel and Jay together!  Everything was just an act, a scheme to rob the victim.

Hallu Gay Bar Closed

I would not be surprised to see Hallu Gay Bar close down.  For me, their dancers were too "exotic".  My Manila friends who went there last fiesta were so disappointed.  They were expecting mouth watering dancers but instead they looked like they needed to eat soon!

Money Matters

Money is a sticky issue amongst some gay people.  Gays are known to spend a lot and I mean a lot.  That is why gays are being targeted by swindlers or simply guys who just want to have "fun".

To be honest, I also went through this process of spending money and it was not productive at all.  At the end, I suffered from my irresponsible behavior.  Lucky enough I was able to regain my footing and stopped "over spending".  

So right now, I let my boyfriend share expenses when we go out or do something.  Do not let money dictate your relationship.  If you use money to buy "love" or affection, once you ran out of money, say good bye to love.

 2011 - 27 cases

Based on the statistics, the rate of the viral infection is at Fifty (50) percent annually.  If we follow this trend, in 2012, the HIV-AIDS cases in the city will reach close to 55 and by 2013 there will be over a 100 people in CDO with HIV-AIDS. 

If you are from Cagayan de Oro City, call the AIDS Hotline number (8822-area code) 72-1189.  This is a service by the City Health Office of Cagayan  de Oro.  They will entertain your questions without malice.  If they do insult or embarrass you in anyway, call the attention of the City Health Officers and report such incident.  These people are supposed to assist you in anyway.

Jun of Mr. Globe Philippines 2010

According to the website, this guy's name is Jun and he is from Cagayan de Oro.  He joined the Mr. Globe Philippines 2010 in Manila.  He attended the pre-pageant event but later on backed out.  There were no reasons given why he backed out.

Facebook blackmail ends in arrest

A 16 year old girl was blackmailed in Facebook and threatened that her nude photos will be uploaded online unless she gives money or have sex with her blackmailer.

The blackmailer (a guy) told the girl that she should take a protein powder and since she was a model, she should take nude photos of herself for a "before" and "after" comparison of her body.

The guy was arrest in an entrapment operation by the NBI.

Japan Earthquake 1st Anniversary

Exactly one year ago, a magnitude 9 earthquake struck Japan and caused a deadly tsunami.  It wiped out entire communities and left thousands dead or missing.

212 new HIV cases recorded in January 2012

"The Department of Health (DOH) said it has recorded 212 new cases of human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) infection last January.

The DOH said January’s figure is higher by 39% compared to that of January 2011 with 152.

Most of the cases were reported in Metro Manila at 58% (123). The rest of the cases were reported in Region 4-A, Region 3, Region 11, Region 6 and Region 7.

Meanwhile, 61% (129) of the new cases affected those between the ages of 20 and 29."

I have observed some debate over this issue in the blog.  How handsome is handsome?  Unsa ba na sya ka gwapo? 

Beauty is subjective.  What might be handsome for me might not be handsome for you.  Sometimes I disagree with boyfriend, like....gwapo na?!  He then gives me a slap on the arm.  I tell him again....seriously?!  gwapo na para nimo?  I then get the evil eye....don't talk to me! hahahaha  

There are guys that if you just look at their face, they are not that handsome but when you see their rocking hot body, wow....he is hot and handsome.  Madala nalang tungod sa lawas.  There are a lot of variables involved.  One can consider a guy handsome because of his skin tone, is he dark or light skinned, the eyes, the nose, the personality and whatever.

So the next time you comment about a guy if he is handsome or not, just say...gwapo sya para nako, ambot lang para nimo.

Samsung has launched the Samsung Galaxy Beam, a cellphone with a built in projector.  What would they think of next?  By the way, if you plan to buy an iPad 2, better wait for iPad HD.  Yes...iPad HD.  According to an article I read in Tweeter, Apple will name its latest iPad model, iPad HD.  Apple will be launching its latest iPad model anytime this year, some say even this week.  There are also rumors that Apple might soon release an iPad 7.1" model.

UN AIDS calls on Philippines to step up drive against HIV

An official of the United Nations Programme on HIV/AIDS (UNAIDS) called on the Department of Health (DOH) to escalate efforts in addressing the problem on HIV and AIDS in the country amid the continuing increase in the number of cases.

The UNAIDS official said there is a need to initiate more awareness in terms of educating the public on HIV/AIDS as a form of prevention while also encouraging them to get counseling and testing.
