"The Department of Health (DOH) said it has recorded 212 new cases of human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) infection last January.
The DOH said January’s figure is higher by 39% compared to that of January 2011 with 152.
Most of the cases were reported in Metro Manila at 58% (123). The
rest of the cases were reported in Region 4-A, Region 3, Region 11,
Region 6 and Region 7.
Meanwhile, 61% (129) of the new cases affected those between the ages of 20 and 29."
