Gay Swindlers in Cagayan de Oro City

Let me emphasize this, I am not a victim of these swindlers.  I am here to warn people of these gay swindlers in Cagayan de Oro who have been preying on helpless gay people in the city for several years now.

Most if not all of call boys or male escorts in Cagayan de Oro are swindlers.  Some of these swindlers are not even call boys.  You can find them in social networking sites like Facebook and others.  They would first befriend you and after they gain your trust, they would then rob you of your valuables.

If you are the type of person who patronize call boys, my advise to you is to take photos of these guy and send the photos to your friends.  If you go somewhere else, bring another trusted friend with you.  Do not allow the guy to bring another person with him.   Mu uban daw iyang ig-agaw ug amigo.  That cousin or friend might be an accomplice to the swindler.  Go to motels with CCTV camera, so you can ask for the video afterwards if you get swindled.  Better yet, leave your valuables with the motel receptionist and get it afterwards.  Never bring these guys to your apartment or home unless you are sure that someone in your home can help you when you need assistance.

Until someone fights back and report them to the police, these gay swindlers will keep on victimizing gay people in the city.

Ka-GAY-an Festival

The Kagay-an Festival of Cagayan de Oro is simply the gayest festival ever.  You have gay band majorettes, gay street performers, gay organizers? gay everything.  Even the color scheme of the street performers are gay (purple).

This is a departure from the previous organizer, Promote CDO, who warned people that Kagay-an Festival is a "religious" event and should be celebrated with "dignity" and "respect".  This statement came after a gay mermaid was placed in one of the fluvial floats.  Come to think about it, all contingents had gay dancers.  So whats the difference?

YouTube : More Than Words (Extreme) with lyrics

I love this song for its acoustic guitar.  It shows that you do not have to use sex to sell music or use complicated graphics to make the song more attractive.  Let the song speak for itself.

More Than Words is all about showing your love through actions than words.  Some people often say "I love you" but they do not really mean it.

Who Should Pay on a Date?

Who pays for a date?  This is my rule of thumb...whoever invites the person to a date should pay for it.  Alangan...ikaw nag invite makigdate unya pa libre ka?

If your date is still a student or earns less than you, then you are obligated to pay for the date. That is why it is not advisable to date a student if you are not financially stable.

Now if your date keeps on paying for you, it does not mean you do not even offer to pay.  Pay for the drinks, pay for small things that you can afford.  You can probably pay for the movie tickets, snacks or taxi fare.  Show your date that you can stand on your own and not be overly dependent on him.

You don't have to be extravagant to win over your date.  Money can buy things but it can't buy happiness.

How to Detect Online Dating Fraud

Good day! A warning to social networking media users (GayRomeo, Facebook and others).  Be careful who you meet or date online.  Several people have already complained of fraud or being swindled by people they met in Cagayan de Oro City.

Here are some tips to follow:

1. When meeting someone online, check their Facebook account or if not see each other through webcam. Today, most people have Facebook or webcams, so if that person does not have one, that is a warning sign.

2. If the person wants to meet with you immediately in your hotel room or apartment, that is a warning sign. Meet this person first in a public area or through webcam. If you do not like the person you are meeting, you can easily leave the place or simply turn off the webcam.

3. If you bring these strangers to your hotel room or apartment/home, make sure the hotel has a CCTV camera and the guy should register or surrender an ID to the hotel receptionist. Better yet, leave your valuables with the hotel receptionist for safe keeping and instruct them never to give it to anyone except you. Take a photo of the guy using your phone and send it to friends. Never go with these guys alone in your home. Always make sure someone is at home with you.

4. If the profile photo is not the same with the actual person you meet, that is a warning sign. Make an excuse and leave immediately.

5. If someone asks you for a night out with his so called "friends and cousins", that is a warning sign. You might end up paying all of the drinks and even more. Sometimes you go out in a date, only to find out that his "cousin" will join you later. If this happens, make an excuse and leave!

6. When in a motel, if the guy insists that you take a shower first, this is a warning sign. This is an opportunity for the swindler to take your belongings and your clothes! If you shower, take your clothes with you inside the bathroom and lock the door.

Share this with friends!  If you have been a victim of these swindlers, REPORT them to the Police!

Prince Harry Nude Photos

Prince Harry is in trouble.  Nude photos of Prince Harry has started spreading online and the news has already reached the UK.  The photos were taken in his trip to Las Vegas, USA.  He apparently joined a strip poker game and basically went all naked.  His nude photos were easily recognizable because of his necklace/pendant which he wore earlier in that the day.

Kudos to TMZ for getting a scoop like this!

HIV AIDS in Cagayan de Oro City

In past years, there has been a sudden increase of HIV-AIDS cases in the Philippines, most of which was through male-to-male sex.  The Department of Health has already declared an AIDS epidemic outbreak in the Philippines including Cagayan de Oro City.

For the first time in decades, the HIV-AIDS case in Cagayan de Oro City has reached double digits.  Here are the full statistics in the past years:

2008 - 6 cases
2009 - 9 cases
2010 - 14 cases
 2011 - 27 cases

Based on the statistics, the rate of the viral infection is at Fifty (50) percent annually.  If we follow this trend, in 2012, the HIV-AIDS cases in the city will reach close to 55 and by 2013 there will be over a 100 people in CDO with HIV-AIDS.

If you are from Cagayan de Oro City, call the AIDS Hotline number (8822-area code) 72-1189.  This is a service by the City Health Office of Cagayan  de Oro.  They will entertain your questions without malice.  If they do insult or embarrass you in anyway, call the attention of the City Health Officers and report such incident.  These people are supposed to assist you in anyway.

Blogs and Plagiarism

Senator Vic Sotto is in the hot seat for copying parts of his Anti-RH speech from a US based blog The Healthy Home Economist.

When this issue started gaining ground, Senator Sotto denied at first the accusation, saying that he got his speech from a book author.  Days later his aide, Atty. Hector Villacorta admitted that the speech came from the Healthy Home Economist blog.  They could no longer deny it because the blog author herself, Sarah Pope accused Senator Sotto of plagiarism.  To add insult to injury, the aide said that blogs are meant to be shared (public domain) and is not covered by copyrights law.  You mean anyone can just copy what you post online because it is within the public domain?

Whether it is legal or not any article or written material that you reuse should be properly cited or acknowledged.  As you would notice in this blog, I try my best to acknowledge or determine the source of the photos or articles because it is the RIGHT THING to do.

YouTube : Sirena (Song)

This rap-reggae song from Gloc-9 is about the challenges of growing up gay.  The title "Sirena" has raised some eyebrows because it tends to stereotype gay people.

Have you been in this situation?  You have problems reconciling with your sexual identity, your first gay sexual experience, opening up to the world and finding out that it is not what you expect it to be.  I highly recommend you watch this film.  It will bring back a lot of memories ;)  By the way this is not a movie clip but the full film.

While at the job they befriend their lesbian manager Angie and a gay college student named Rod. Eric gets his first homosexual experience with Rod. Rod however moves back to Ohio leaving Eric thirsty of a boy lover on his last year in High School. A series of events including problems with financing for him to study music in college introduce Eric to the real world."
