Eight Season American Idol runner up Adam Lambert was known for his theatrical performances and was favored to win the title. Unfortunately gay rumors started surfacing on the eve of the finale. Eventually he lost the title to Kris Allen. Despite the set back and finally admitting that he was gay, his album sold more than a million copies worldwide and he was nominated in the 2011 Grammy Awards.
