Puerto Rican boxer Orlando Cruz recently announced that he is gay. This would probably make him the first openly gay boxer in history.
He came out in the hope of gaining respect both inside and outside the boxing ring.
A few days after his revelation, he defeated Jorge Pazos via unanimous decision giving him an opportunity to soon fight for a world title.
