Bisexual flag and colors |
There are a lot of issues about bisexuality. Gay men consider bisexuals as gays in denial. It is either you are straight or gay. However, I always ask this question, how about those macho dancers, call boys or male escorts who are straight yet they engage in gay sex or gay acts for the sake of work or money? Are they still straight or bisexual? That is why some brand themselves as "tripper" or "open minded" straight guys to differentiate themselves from true bisexuals. There is also a similar situation in the United States among straight African-American men who enjoys male-to-male sex. These guys insist that they are simply straight men who enjoy casual gay sex. This is what they refer to as "being on the Down-Low".
The term "tripper" is sometimes being abused by "discreet" gay guys in the Philippines. Being "discreet" does not mean you are a "tripper" or a straight guy. It does not also mean that if you deny your sexuality, you are considered as a "tripper" or a "discreet" guy. Again we have to distinguish these things clearly to avoid confusion.
I hope this topic about bisexuality would open up more discussion on this issue. We need to be informed and to know who is the genuine bisexual.

interesting. so unsa man gyud ng mga macho dancer? maya? bayot?
Yes they might be still straight but their job demands them to be bisexuals. So technically I consider them as bisexuals whether they like it or not. I have even read that they further categorized bisexuals. There are casual bisexuals, incidental bisexuals and so on which to me is too much.
i think simple ra mani sabton... :)
kung naay black and white, nganong wala man lugar gray???
I agree. Some people are misinformed of the term "bisexual". If you are only sexually attracted to men, then you are simply gay or homosexual. Being "discreet" or a straight acting gay does not make you bisexual.
my opinion:
gays - attracted to ONLY the same gender as theirs
bisexuals - attracted to both male and female, as stated about, and this is physically and/or sexually.
straight - attracted to the opposite sex.
bi-curious - those who are attracted to the both sexes but just physically. Confirmed after they engage in sexually if they like it or not.
ON THE OTHER HAND:
tripper - people who are scared to be "labeled" as gay. The mere fact that they're attracted to both sexes makes them bisexual.
On the comment above din na nag-sasabi na bisexual ends up being gay in the end. I don't think so. It doesn't mean din na bisexual ka, you have to have both partners at the same time, just so you'd be considered, and confirmed as bisexual.
On the topic posted: No all callboys, escourts, macho dancers like what they're doing. Which is why a lot of hate crimes are happening din from their line of work (not sure if it's considered work). Kapit sa patalim, ika nga.
Sana po maka tulong ang site na to to erase the stigma of bisexual men and women, not just in CDO, but kahit san natin kaya abutin. :)

I hope that by discussing this issue, people will be more informed of what bisexuality is all about.
Gays can be masculine or feminine, right?
im male but im attracted to both female and male and i consider myself as bisexual. i have experience sex with a female and a male and i enjoyed both. i have a gf and we have sex regularly. my friends and family did know that im bisexual. im just sharing my experience.
Not all gay men are feminine. It really depends on you. It does not mean if you are gay you should act feminine or be loud.
Most gay men do not believe in the concept of bisexuality. Some say bisexuals are gays in denial. But personally speaking, I believe there are people who are genuinely bisexual.
