The US has approved an over-the-counter HIV home testing kit. This will allow people some privacy and encourage more testing. However the cost is still an issue. The maker of the home testing kit is trying to sell the product around 17 US Dollars or even higher. It would still be expensive compared to conventional laboratory testing.
